From a Night Party to Forever:

It all began on what seemed like an ordinary night in 2021, at a party neither of us expected would change the course of our lives.

In a room full of people, we found each other. The conversation was brief, nothing over the top, but there was something quietly electric in that moment. A spark. A sense of familiarity. We couldn’t explain it, but we both felt it. Something special had just begun.

As time passed, our paths kept crossing. What started as a connection turned into friendship — easy, natural, and full of laughter. It didn’t take long to realize that we shared the same silly, quirky sense of humour. We could spend hours laughing over the smallest things, and in those moments, everything else faded away.

Though our personalities were different, Allan being calm, thoughtful, and steady, while I brought boldness, warmth, and a spark of mischief, we balanced each other perfectly. Where one of us was strong, the other was steady. Where one dreamed, the other grounded. Our differences didn’t divide us, rather they pulled us closer, shaping something stronger than either of us imagined.

And then came game night. Just another fun evening with friends, or so it seemed. But for Allan, it was the moment. With laughter in the air and a quiet certainty in his heart, he turned to me and asked:

I smiled, surprised but full of joy. My answer was simple, and forever-changing: “Yes.”

What makes our story even more special is where we come from. I am proudly Nigerian while Allan is proudly Kenyan. Two cultures, two hearts, two stories, brought together by something as simple as a party and as powerful as fate.

Since then, we’ve grown through love, through challenges, through joy, and through everyday magic. Now, we’re stepping into forever, bringing with us not just memories of how we met, but the deep love that’s grown between us every day since.
