De’bizzles Love Story

On the 9th of February, It was a bright Sunday afternoon in Akure, Ondo state. I and my girls had plan to go see a movie at the cinema, we were to meet up at a restaurant not far from the cinema as one of my friend was there having a buffet brunch and I decided to have my lunch at the eatery of the same restaurant.

While I was eating, a young man walked towards me and asked if he could chat with me, I agreed even though I would normally not agree to such. We had small talks while I eat and he said he and his friends came to town for a wedding ceremony a day before and decided to attend another friend’s church program, stop by to eat before leaving back to Osogbo where they came from. That caught my attention because I had also schooled n live in osogbo for awhile. It felt good to talk about things from there, and when he asked for my contact I told him I would give him my card before leaving as I would have to get it from my car, he agreed and held on to my word n left me to finish my meal. Once I was done with my food I went out got to my car and headed back to the restaurant just to honor my word and he met me half way, thanked me n I drove off.

30mins into the movie I had a WhatsApp call and I picked up quietly then I heard “ Take the phone she has picked the call (in Yoruba) I was confused and curious at the same time. Then I heard the voice MY NAME IS OLAYINKA I told my friend to help me get your contact, I was confused. But I told him I would speak to him later as I was in the cinema and was pissed abit(how can you tell your friend to come and collect my contact)🙄

After the call I checked the contact information on the watsapp and I got to know about his job and IG handle. I snooped around his IG handle, saw a nice looking young man, then I saw a particular post of him with a tinted hair (don’t like coloured tints on men), saw he was a Muslim and his birthday is Sept 29 while mine is Sept 27.

Later that night he checked up on me to know if I was home and asked if he could call me. I responded to him but also told him I don’t like calls because I won’t be able to do other things, he asked if I use EarPod and I told him it’s usually a struggle for me because my ears are small (Till today he still gets me EarPods no matter how many he has given me. And they always fit)

He called and I asked why he sent his friend instead. He said he was already eating and didn’t want to miss out on me. He introduced himself, his work, where he lives and all and I told him I’m aware, he was surprised as to how I got to know that and I told him I already went through his Instagram, he asked some personal questions I reluctantly replied, as I just left a long time relationship and had been on break for over a year, and definitely wasn’t interested in any relationship, more so he is also a muslim (Not that I have any issue with it)
